I am working with Green Harvest Technologies and we are working on developing a wooden cap for a biobased reusable water bottle. We prefer that the wood come a FSC or otherwise sustainable

We are interested in a number of woods and are wondering if your members are able to supply the need that we have.

We would use "Production Turning" methods for the production of the cap.

This methods requires 10/4 square (i.e. 2.5" thick) wood as the stock material for the "turning blank" (2.5" x 2.5" x available Length).

Assuming this size stock, we would require about 17000 linear feet of that material or 6900 board feet.

Black Walnut was the first choice
In addition we are looking at the following
Black Locust
Butternut
Buttonwood
Chestnut
Cherry
Sycamore
Tanoak

If no individual supplier has that quantity alone we are open to considering aggregating the supplies. Obviously the closer they are together the better.

Thanks
